The Fractured Prune® has been an Ocean City, MD landmark since 1976 — a tradition for doughnut lovers far and wide, and the place vacationers talk about long after they head home.
Our founder believed doughnuts this unique deserved a name just as intriguing. He found it in Prunella Shriek, a feisty local landowner from the 1800s who raced on ice skates and skis well into her seventies — and came home on crutches so often she became known as “Fractured Prunella.”
We still carry her sass, style and go-get-’em spirit. We were serving designer doughnuts before “designer” anything was cool, and today Fractured Prune shops are spreading along the East Coast and beyond.
Spunky and fun-loving, but serious about our doughnuts. You will be too.
